Outright Gift.

Your client can make a gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets to the Kearney Area Community Foundation. The charitable gift qualifies for an income tax deduction and could avoid capital gains tax.

Bequest by Will or Trust.

Your client can designate a gift or portion of his/her estate to the Kearney Area Community Foundation and, in some cases, receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes.

Charitable Gift Annuity.

Your client can make a gift of cash or property to the Kearney Area Community Foundation now, get immediate tax benefits, and ensure that he/she or a loved one receive fixed quarterly or annual income payments for life.

Charitable Remainder Trust.

Your client can place cash or property in a trust that pays annual income to him/her (or another named beneficiary) for life or a fixed number of years. After the termination of the trust, the remainder of the balance transfers to the Kearney Area Community Foundation and is placed into a charitable fund supporting the cause(s) of your client’s choice. Your client receives income tax benefits the year the trust is established.

Charitable Lead Trust.

Your client can place cash or property into a trust that pays a fixed amount to the Kearney Area Community Foundation for the number of years your client selects. Once this period ends, the assets held by the trust are transferred to the beneficiaries your client names. In some cases, your client can receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes.

Life Insurance.

Your client can name the Kearney Area Community Foundation as the owner and designated beneficiary or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy. The gift could reduce your client’s estate and income taxes.
