Community Foundation Moves Office to “The Bricks”

September 29th, 2008
The Kearney Area Community Foundation will be moving their office “Downtown on The Bricks” at 2207 Central Avenue on June 1st.

The Kearney Area Community Foundation currently occupies an office at the Chamber Center on 1007 Second Avenue and has been in this building since their inception in 1995.

“We are excited about the increased visibility and progressiveness of the downtown location. Although we will miss the exposure to the public using the Chamber Center, we think this move will give us access to a larger population of our community as well as the opportunity to expand our services,” said Judi Sickler, Executive Director of the Kearney Area Community Foundation. “We will continue our partnership with the Chamber and their programs, including Leadership Kearney, Wellness Works, Business Education Committee and Gateway Farm Expo Scholarship.”

Recent leadership changes at the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau required more office space for staff. “We appreciate the role the Community Foundation plays in the Kearney Area and will continue to strengthen our partnership with them on many fronts. We will miss their presence in our building, but wish them well in their new location in our vibrant downtown area,” said Greg Shea, Executive Director of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce.
