The Kearney Area Community Foundation manages over 30 scholarship funds. The crtieria for these scholarships are varied, so please take a moment to search our scholarships to determine if you are eligible to apply.

Jonathan Nikkila
Jonathan is the Senior Vice-President at 50CAN, a national organization that works to ensure that a high quality public education is available to all children.

Vickie Schaepler
Vickie enjoyed a career of working with people with disabilities in public and private service. She serves on the History Nebraska Board of Trustees and Buffalo County Historical Society board. Since retirement, she has pursued her passion for preserving the history of Japanese Immigrants in Nebraska.

Bryan Kuntz
Bryan Kuntz has worked for Intellicom since 2003 where he is currently the President. Bryan and his wife, Candy, live in Kearney and are parents to three wonderful kids.

Carol Pelster
Carol is the Branch Manager at NebraskaLand National Bank. When she's not at work, she enjoys being out in the community attending the many activities and events Kearney has to offer.

Jeremy Armagost
Jeremy is a Certified Financial Planner with WealthPlan Partners and is grateful to live in such a wonderful community. Jeremy and his wife, Angela, stay busy attending their two daughters' many activities around Kearney.

Brian Bosshamer
Brian has been involved in the community for 23 years, mainly in the UNL Extension. He has a passion for youth and agriculture. He and his wife, Ann Marie, have two daughters and live on a farm by Amherst, caring for their land and cattle and enjoying life with their girls.

Jon Brandt
Jon is a lawyer who enjoys volunteering at church and community organizations, spending time with his wife and three children, and podcasting about Kearney.

Brette Ensz
A Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, Brette loves working with clients to help them plan for their future. She also loves spending time with her husband, two sons, and dog.

Becky Forbes
Becky has been the owner of Bow & Arrow Boutique in downtown Kearney and North Platte for 5 years. She has been a member of the Kearney community for over 20 years. When she isn't doing the job she loves, her husband, two boys, a rabbit, cats, chickens and cows keep her on her toes.

Brenda Jensen
Brenda is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Kearney and has a strong love for her community, assisting with growth and development. She has an avid love for traveling and exploring new cities and enjoys spending time with her husband, son Kellan, four-legged children, and friends.

Heidi Narber-Richter
Heidi has worked as a real estate agent in Kearney and the surrounding area for the past 25 years. She and her husband have three children and when she's not selling real estate, you can find her cheering them on at their many events and activities.

Dave Oldfather
Dave is President of Platte River Investments, L.L.C. He enjoys helping the Kearney Community by being involved with the Buffalo County Economic Development Council, Five Points Bank Advisory Board, Nebraska Diplomats and Nebraska Ag Builders. Dave and his wife Roxanne are the parents of four girls and have four grandchildren.

Mindy Oman
Mindy is a CPA and shareholder at KSO+, a volunteer wish granter for Make-A-Wish Nebraska and when she grew up, she wanted to be the first woman President of the United States. Mindy and her husband share their home with their two beautiful daughters.

Ron Scott
Ron was a family doctor who loved his career and his patients. He has delightful children who are artists and supporters of the arts. He is an avid traveler and a fan of everything his grandchildren like to do. He has been on the Kearney Public School Board, Kearney Public School Foundation and the Senior College Board of Directors.

Todd Thalken
Todd is a retired florist and local musician. He and his wife, Lois, have been blessed to live and work in the wonderful Kearney community.

Matt Wecker
Matthew Wecker is a nurse anesthetist with Sonno Anesthesia, practicing at Kearney Regional Medical Center. He has a wife, Abbie, and two children ages four and one.

Ashley Weets
Ashley is the Director of Student and Enrollment Services at Central Community College and loves being able to be a resource to the students. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, taking part in the events and activities Kearney has to offer.

Linda Younes
Linda and her husband Paul have served in the community for over 40 years. She loves helping others and has served on many boards and organizations. Her hobby is purchasing for the Y Boutique in Kearney and she enjoys spending time with her 10 grandchildren.
